What is the B1–B2 English level?
B1-B2 is the intermediate level of English proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). This level marks the transition from basic survival English to confident, practical communication. You've moved past simple "yes" and "no" answers and can actually share your thoughts, tell stories, and handle real-life situations with confidence.
What can you do at the B1-B2 level?
- Listening: You can understand conversations and speeches in most situations in your personal and professional life.
- Speaking: You can have conversations about common topics and everyday life. You can communicate in most situations when traveling
- Reading: You can understand emails and longer texts on topics related to common daily activities, descriptions of events, and texts that express feelings and wishes.
- Writing: You can write clear summaries and reports on subjects that are familiar to you. You can write professional emails.
